Our Visionary
Originally Founded by Shannon (Shan B.) Brewer in 2005 and named after his brother who was killed at the age of sixteen, Mr. Brewer sought to serve at-risk youth in the Southwest Little Rock, (Arkansas) area with an emphasis on Arts Related Programming.
While serving as a Youth Mentor and Assistant Youth Minister under the leadership of Dr. Antoine Scruggs, Mr. Brewer had a desire to reach youth on a more creative level to build more interest and involvement in the Youth Ministry. With a background in music, he began teaching his mentees writing, recording, and stage performance skills. Youth were allowed to perform poetry, rap, sing, and dance in an effort to convert negative stress into positive energy and creativity. Thus, the Cornell Scott Youth & Arts Center was born as an extension of PromiseLand Church Ministries and the PromiseLand Community Development Corporation (CDC).
The program provided other activities for youth as well that included math and reading tutorship, mentorship, youth lock-ins, concerts, educational field trips, community fundraisers, and block parties. These events also included guest speakers, community leaders, and other positive mentors.

With much success, Mr. Brewer was asked in 2007 to become the Youth Coordinator for the City of Little Rock’s New Future’s For Youth Program which is also known as the Boys YIP Program (Youth Intervention & Prevention). During this time, he received a full scholarship to the Edward Coleman Leadership Institute (The Stand Foundation). A non-profit organization for young community leaders headed by, then Arkansas State Senator, Dr. Tracy Steele, where Mr. Brewer graduated in 2010 before moving to Arlington, TX.
While in Texas, Mr. Brewer focused on volunteering his time at various Church Ministries and Organizations, including Koinonia Christian Church, under the leadership of Dr. Ronnie Goins and at T.O.R.I. (Texas Offenders Reentry Initiative) at The Potter’s House, under the leadership of Bishop T.D. Jakes.
Mr. Brewer also began Ministry Training at Christian Leaders Institute where he became an Ordained Deacon. He is also a Certified and Ordained Life Coach Minister, a Life Skills Minister, Restored Life Minister, and is continuing his studies as a Licensed and Ordained Youth Minister.
In 2021, Mr. Brewer began to laying the foundation for Rhythm Parq Legacy (A Performing Arts, Leadership, & Entrepreneurship Training Organization For Youth).
Mr. Brewer has over 15 years of experience working with at-risk teens and troubled youth and has a powerful testimony of how God delivered him from gang violence and an attempt at selling drugs.
