Our Team

Originally Founded by Shannon (Shan B.) Brewer in 2005 and named after his brother who was killed at the age of sixteen, Mr. Brewer sought to serve at-risk youth in the Southwest Little Rock, (Arkansas) area with an emphasis on Arts Related Programming.

While serving as a Youth Mentor and Assistant Youth Minister under the leadership of Dr. Antoine Scruggs, Mr. Brewer had a desire to reach youth on a more creative level to build more interest and involvement in the Youth Ministry. With a background in music, he began teaching his mentees writing, recording, and stage performance skills. Youth were allowed to perform poetry, rap, sing, and dance in an effort to convert negative stress into positive energy and creativity. Thus, the Cornell Scott Youth & Arts Center was born as an extension of PromiseLand Church Ministries and the PromiseLand Community Development Corporation (CDC).
